Tanzania & Zanzibar

Hemingway's Africa

Wildlife and remote wilderness, glorious beaches and islands with history. Tanzania already captured the imagination of Hemingway. Unique game watching is guaranteed in the numerous nature reserves, such as the Serengeti with its annual migration of 6 Million wildebeest, or Lake Manyara with its rich bird life, Tarangire or the Ngorongoro crater. The culture of the Maasai will contribute that you’ll become a lover of Africa.

Zanzibar is an archipelago off the Tanzanian coast. The islands are rich of history and its former Sultanate as one can experience especially in Stonetown on Unjuja, as you walk the narrow alleys and encounter the many spices grown on the islands. Further, the long stretches of white sandy beaches invite to simply relax and enjoy, swim with dolphins or do other activities.

  • Dear Vicky

Back safely and happy this morning. All went well and according to plan. I’ve spent the day catching up on paperwork and grandchildren and showing photos and now going to a well deserved bed!

I couldn’t go to sleep though without letting you know that I am indebted to you for the most superb planning and fulfillment of my African journey. It was superbly executed and I could not have asked for better. Praise indeed and so well deserved by you and your colleagues.

When I am settled back into some sort of regime, I will consider how I might re-visit Cape Town and elsewhere next year and the highlight will be meeting up with you again but hopefully before that point either in London, Princeton, NY or Florida.

I send my love to you and fondest wishes to your parents and all the family.
Thank you again for your hospitality and warmth.

Please let me know what the balance is when your accountants final settle the differentials.

    In the meantime,
fondest wishes, love and thanks again

  • Dear travel team,

thank you again for arranging us a very memorable trip though South Africa!

Every accommodation was wonderful, and we only wish we had been able to stay at each place longer although time did not allow it.
Simbambili Game Lodge – everything was fantastic; the accommodations were suburb, meals were excellent, the staff amazing, and the rangers so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Holden-Manz Wine Farm in the Winelands – out of this world! We could have stayed there for a week and been happy. Again, the staff was so helpful, the rooms just lovely, and the food delicious.

Cliff Lodge in De Kelders – absolutely breathtaking setting, the staff and owner were great, breakfast was excellent! Kensington Place in Cape Town – what a fabulous residence and helpful staff. The rooms were fantastic as was the food. All we had to do was ask, and they were so helpful, especially Austin. It was a perfect way to end out trip.

I would highly recommend each of these places. Each time we thought we would not be able to top the previous place, yet each place was fabulous. You and your team really did an exceptional job. Our trip was so special and we will be back soon!!

  • Dear Opulent Living Travel team,

Our family is back from our fabulous trip to Kenya and Tanzania!!! Everything went perfect. We enjoyed it a lot!!!

I think the best was the Masai Mara area. The game viewing was excellent, and the terrain was fabulous. The experience in the village was very good. In the Serengeti Under Canvas we enjoyed the experience of the camp. The game viewing was also great. We didn’t have any inconvenience at all. All the recommendations you made were very good. All the &beyond accommodations, staff and service were very good.

    Thanks for all you help. From 1 to 10 – it’s a 10!!!
